Images are making their way in to menswear for the Fall 2021 season – and not just any kind of prints. Designers have flipped their attention to abstracted types, shapes and patterns within constructing both loungewear plus casualwear for men.
Moschino incorporated painterly themes throughout the collection, creating suiting, coats and trousers that all function monochromatic patterns that show up as broad brush shots across a canvas. Over the spectrum, A-Cold-Wall took the slightly more figural approach along with patterns comprised of varying forms across a minimalist color scheme.

Louis Vuitton followed the trend along with blocks of color distribute across garments, also as if painted on, while each Etro and MSGM veered toward the figural along with repetitive patterns in shapely forms. Fendi fell someplace in between, creating repeating designs of abstracted forms.
Designs are nothing new to menswear, as brands have been adding more and more color variations plus patterns into clothing plus consumers are becoming more interested in daring design. As we move into Drop 2021, we are seeing images becoming more art-inspired, with conceptual and daring inspirations.
